This was the first afternoon on the very first vacation I took alone with my girlfriend. We worked and saved up money and booked a hotel in Sarasota for a weekend and planned to visit some museums. In the afternoon it was only fitting to go watch the sunset. I had my camera so close to the water (without water protection) just to get this picture, but it was worth it.

I was walking on a small beach on a few meters from the road. I looked down at the water and got curious about what the waves rolling onto the shore would look like if I zoomed in. I leveled my camera to where it was just at a slight angle so it wouldn’t capture the horizon or the rising sun and snapped the shot. This photo turned out great, soothing, and oddly satisfying which is what I love about it! It is definitely the best picture of moving water that I’ve ever taken.
